I seem to owe you all a few fillers, of which this is one. But a cheap one. I don't even know if it still works but we picked it up in a second hand shop for $15, along with about a 1000 slides.
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
how interesting, I buy this kind of thing too and 1000 slides has to be a few interesting ones in there, you can get a little gadget that will use your phone and digitize them...
@nicoleterheide Thanks very much :) @jocasta Thank you very much - it was a bit of a bargain @pistache Thank you very much :) @elishajae Thanks very much - looking forward to having a look at those @jack4john It will be interesting to see what's on them - I'll have to look into that gadget
Nice bit of kit. The slides may prove interesting......... A friend of mine inherited a load of old photographic equipment when his aged uncle died. (that's where I got some of my darkroom equipment from) but the most interesting thing was the collection of thousands of film negatives. Including hundreds of shots of a very buxom naked lady who my friend had never met before. The secret life of old uncle Brian. :).
uncanny...we had a slide day on the weekend...unit still worked but a bit stiff with the 'auto' changer...lol...slides were still in remarkable condition after 45+ years!
Like everyone else, I'm looking forward to finding out what's on the slides. If this projector doesn't work, you should be able to pick up another in working condition for not very much money... try eBay.
@vignouse eBay to NZ is a bit of a nightmare in terms of delivery...something to do with being a colony I believe. I've had a brief look through the slides and about half of them are blank. Only 500 to go.
@tabbycat I hope not...they look fairly old and I have no desire to see someone posing seductively in a sepia swimsuit ;) @joysabin I was thinking that once I get a new bulb it would be an ideal light source for some hobby or other ;)
This. Is. Awesome!
I recently found a stash of my dad’s slides (four carousel trays) from the early 50s into the 80s. My slide projector isn't as old as this, but I'm waiting on a replacement bulb, https://365project.org/rhoing/365/2024-02-11
