The Road to Nukumaru

This is the bridge over the Waitotara River in South Taranaki (barely). I was on my way to meet a client at a community project at Nukumaru Domain and when I saw this during a break in the thunder and lightening I thought to my self "my word, that would make a spiffing photo old chap". Or something like that anyway.
Oh, by the way - I'm actually back at home for a couple of days. Shock horror. I wonder if the inimitable Mrs. S will remember me...I may have to make myself known.
Definitely spiffy... And moody... And stuff... Hope you gave picture id

@frantackaberry Thank you very much :)
@tabbycat How could you forget? ;)
@bill_fe Thank you my good man, I shall accept with good grace.
@northy Thank you kindly - the trouble with photo ID is that I'm not really recognisable as me in most of my shots!

I can't pronounce any of those words!

Spiffy and cracking! The lines are lovely. I totally enjoy the spelling of your geography, btw. Welcome home.

Wow, looks like some of the cold fronts we've been having are now passing through NZ. Love those treating clouds, very foreboding.

Very nice Mister

@golftragic Thanks very much - I like the use of the phrase "passing though". They're actually smacking us around the back of the head.

@blueberry1222 It's easy when you're born and raised here ;)

Great pov and fantastic lighting.

I hope you have a head torch when you down in the middle of the road for this shot or you are really risking to be unrecognisable by Mrs. S

Very moody and I confess to being intrigued by the unusual structure of this bridge... it looks like there's a bit missing!
May 19th, 2016
@vignouse Thanks very much - it did seem to be lacking a few cross braces on top. I'm pleased I'n not the only one!
@yaorenliu I parked my car in the middle of the road, right behind me...
@dide Thank you very much :)

@deliad Not that I can take any credit for those, but thank you :)

Spiffing indeed, that lowering sky, with the bridge leading into and through the area, is rather compelling.
May 19th, 2016
Ahh another fellow kiwi :) Very gloomy up in the Bay of Plenty too. You captured this well

May 19th, 2016
