wrecked (2)

The same wreck, just from a different angle...which is no doubt a very similar statement to that made by the captain of this ill fated ship when he ran aground.
Yes, please! :)

@juliedduncan You're welcome ;)

Kind os surprised that this is all that is left of a steel ship...guess 100 years is a long time. I wonder if some of the parts were salvaged or scavenged.

@gardencat I believe that the boiler is further out to sea, but with the force of the winds we get here, the abrasive sand and salt spray...100 years on it's doing okay I think...

My first thought was why not b&w, but I see you did that in another shot. Still great, even in color!
September 10th, 2016
@ukandie1 I tried this one in B&W and, much to my disgust, it looked better in colour.
September 10th, 2016
It happens to me from time to time too :(
September 10th, 2016
It has a classic prow shape but I can't see the figurehead. Probably went down with the captain!
September 10th, 2016
@ukandie1 I don't like it ;)
@maggiemae He was probably having an affair with her ;)

Stark reminder that nature rules. Interesting that it didn't seem to work in black and white, I would have thought it would. I do really like it in colour anyway.
September 10th, 2016
@salza Thanks very much - it just didn't want to play the game in B&W
September 10th, 2016
I quite love this in colour. A ships skeleton is always kind of a reminder, and has a story to tell.
September 10th, 2016
Oh I like this in colour, the context is more evident. Great composition too.
September 10th, 2016
@dibzgreasley Thank you very much :)
@mona65 Thank you very much - it does lend itself to colour more than B&W (unfortunately)
September 10th, 2016
Colour changes the intent of the photo for me
September 10th, 2016
It kinda looks tiny here. Nice capture, but then ,I do love a good shipwreck :)
September 10th, 2016
Awesome... there's a poem to go with this which i will comment when i can find it
September 10th, 2016
Nothing sadder to see than a part of a ship, but you've framed it perfectly and with such a beautiful background. All the rocks -- makes me think it's why the ship ran aground.
September 10th, 2016
@taffy It's not the most hospitable of beaches...and thank you
@izzyromilly Thanks very much - does it start with "there once was a man from Nantucket..."?
@paul10 Thanks very much - it actually not a big wreck - at a guess I would say that it's 3 1/2 metres tall (what's left of it anyway)
@hrs Completely...that and for some reason it didn't want to work in B&W
September 10th, 2016
@graemestevens haha unfortunately not unless youre thinking of some kind of innocent nautical bucket rhyme. Theres a really awesome poem about a shipwreck i always read as a kid but dunno if ill ever be able to find it
September 10th, 2016
@izzyromilly Yes...that's exactly what I was thinking of... ;)
September 10th, 2016
Great find & great shot!
September 10th, 2016
@joemuli Thank you very much :)
September 10th, 2016
I liked your b/w image - but this has so much more power - those clouds, and the texture of the stones in the foreground - beautiful!
September 10th, 2016
@littlequeenie Thank you very much :)
September 10th, 2016
Everything is great here, starting with the POV
September 10th, 2016
well that's cool - I like your composition with the mountains in the background
September 11th, 2016
This looks sooooo awesome
September 11th, 2016
some unlucky people.
September 11th, 2016
After performing at a cider and music festival yesterday..... That's exactly how I feel. Fabulous shot. :)
September 11th, 2016
@yaorenliu Yes, very :)
@shylaine3304 Thank you very much :)
@annied Thank you ma'am - I tried to sift those mountains, but alas
@lsquared Thank you very much :)
September 11th, 2016
@graemestevens I imagine sifting mountains would not be as easy as sifting flour
September 11th, 2016
@annied It's been a long day...
September 11th, 2016
@swillinbillyflynn I'm feeling a bit like that now as well...although your days sounds like more fun than mine
September 11th, 2016
@graemestevens I understand ;-)
September 11th, 2016

Wonderful shot Graeme...
September 12th, 2016
Lee
Great shot Graeme, and I like it in colour too.
September 13th, 2016
Hey, all it needs is a little wood glue and some b/w editing. :-P
September 14th, 2016
@bill_fe I tried B&W and it didn't want to work for me...I was outraged
@gamelee Thanks very much :)
@tonygig Thank you very much :)
