the great war (3)

Boys and their guns. According to the bio at the exhibit the gentleman pointing the dangerous part of this equipment at enemy lines had a rather harrowing time of it but managed to survive while his comrades were ruthlessly mown down about him. I think the look of sheer determination and bloody mindedness on his face says it all.
Incredibly lifelike, especially in b&w. No wonder so many of them finished up with 'shell-shock'/PTSD.

@golftragic Unbelievably life like - the daughter is on an art trip to Wellington today and tomorrow and went to see it today, very impressed as well (which takes a lot with a 17 year old)

I think he looks rather shell shocked actually. It must have quite an affect to see all your colleagues lose their lives around you and a degree of survivor's guilt too xx

@graemestevens Can you make me a bed up then?
March 17th, 2017
Personal attributes to war memorials say so much more than any building can.
March 17th, 2017
@vignouse Sure thing. It may not be indoors, but it will be a bed.
