I was so far beyond civilisation that the gentle plucking of banjos could be heard in the distance. This was therefore a hurried shot as a boy must protect his entrances (and exits) from the country folk and their endless ravishings.
Fantastic!!

Sounds like a story waiting to be told! Nice choice of processing!

Very nicely done, good textures and shapes here.

Fabulous building, processing and the sky looks light lightening is hitting the building

It could use some tlc! But then this scene would fit perfectly into many horror stories!
February 8th, 2018
Fabulous image! I can hear the banjos - be careful! Fav!

The clarity really shows the textures in the wood grain, and that sky is just amazing.

OK, so the rustic building is great. Please take a fav (quickly, mind you). :). I am SO laughing at your "banjoes" reference... from here, so very near the origin of the banjo pickin'.

A mean banjoe.

Great building and great image. Love the narrative too!

Nice

Now there's a barn with some (dark?) secrets to tell , or keep. Excellent processing - I do like the flashes of red on the side - and those clouds are perfect for this subject. Nicely done mate. Have a big big fav from me, if you want one 😁

@paul10 Oh all right then, if you insist...and I'm rather fond of dark secrets...
@spanner Thanks very much :)
@jamibann Thank you very much :)
@rosiekerr Yes indeed...what concerns me the most though is that my computer didn't even pick up on that appalling spelling. I shall discipline myself in a suitable fashion...I may even indulge in taking to myself with a slightly damp celery stalk.
@hrb73 Thank you very much :)
@pamknowler I'm always careful...or maybe not. I do walk with a peculiar gait.
@salza It's definitely a do-er upper...
@jgpittenger Thank you very much :)
@sandrajo Thank you kindly :)
@maggiemae Thanks very much :)
@kwind Thank you very much :)

Great image. Nice subtle colour.

Viewed whilst listening to @rosiekerr Rosie's banjoe picking track. I'm imagining the sounds coming straight from within the barn and someone heading to the door way to lean against it and just gaze across in your direction. You did well to scarper. Even better to get this shot first and work on it present what we see. Cool processing.
February 8th, 2018
Ok can you please tell me where this is so I can go shoot it for a stock photo for my edits lol
February 8th, 2018
Ah it looks rather devilish :)
February 8th, 2018
I love buildings like this.
February 8th, 2018
Really a lovely shot ... but I do think you're too hard on the country folk. They wouldn't know what to make of a boy like you.
February 8th, 2018
Yes, my goodness, who are the country folk who want to ravish you? ;)
February 8th, 2018
Ravish: to sieze or carry off by force ~ versus ~ Ravish: to delight; enrapture. Maybe I'm mixed up! Ha, ha!
February 8th, 2018
@sandrajo I think you might be mixed up. Usually country folk who involve themselves in the practice of Redneckery are only interested in option one.
@365karly1 Thanks very much - you're probably quite right, they wouldn't be able to get past the glory and wonder of my fabulously well turned calf muscles.
@joansmor In the country I think it's building likes this where most of the loving happens...
@hermann It is a bit grim...
@silverhorn Way the hell out the back of Patea, towards Lake Rotorangi & Hurleyville.
@helenhall Thanks very much - it's exactly why I didn't go inside the building. I dread to think what damage would have been done to my delicate constitution. For all I know I may well have been exposed to line dancing!!!
@dkbarnett Thank you very much :)
February 8th, 2018
Still laughing - one must not get ravished :))
February 8th, 2018
LOL!!!! Rather ravish then radish - you know these country folk.....
February 8th, 2018
@fbailey I must not...my bottom is sacred
@jesperani They are a bit odd...
February 9th, 2018
Excellent processing.

@888rachel Thanks very much :)

Great shot and processing.
February 9th, 2018
I really like this image and it would look great hanging on the wall. Well seen and processed.

@dide Thank you very much :)
@haskar Thanks very much :)
February 9th, 2018
I can't tell you how much I love this but these are my favorite subject to photograph. This is a beauty and you've captured it wonderfully. And I'd say RUN when you hear those banjo plucking =)
February 9th, 2018
awesome capture, love your narrative!
February 10th, 2018
@bill_fe Thank you kindly :)
