Miniature

My dad cut this nativity out of scrap wood for me in 2004. It is only about 4" high to the top of the stable so I can't imagine how he gets the tiny figures cut out so well. My family is blessed with all the creations he has given us over the years and this is one of my favorites!

Wonderful nativity and what an heirloom piece!

@maggotx I put it in picnik on pixelate and then "erased" the subject. Really easy.

@maggotx Thanks for the compliments. I was so excited to be able to tell you how to do something I almost forgot your kind words! ;.}

Wow, your dad has golden hands to do it! Wonderful family treasure:)
How do you do these backgrounds?

@thesandbox5 I think sometimes my family takes it for granted because it has always been a part of our lives. As we age we appreciate it more.
Thanks for your kind words, Brenda.

@nyusha I think he is very skilled and do treasure all he has done for me over the years.

I edit in Picnik and chose "pixelate" in the effects tab and then use the brush to "erase" what I want to see clearly.

@bruni Thanks, Bruni. I know how special he is. Thanks for the background comment too. Since I have all my nativities clustered together I needed to do something to make this one the center of focus and leave the others for another time.
