Family Portrait

On the way home from taking the last load of belongings to our daughter's house today we saw these deer near the side of the road. My husband backed up and I felt sure they would take off as soon as they heard the noise from his truck. They didn't They stayed for quite a while and I was pleased to get several shots before they bounded off.
very cute.....

The light is very good for the big deer and it is so good to get the smaller one in too. You have a nice 3D look!

@jayberg Thanks, Jay! It was a lucky shot for me because I don't see them very often and they usually scoot away too soon anyway!

@maggiemae Thanks! I debated whether to wait and see if they would both get in the light and decided to go ahead and get what I could. I really wanted that baby in there and this was the best I could get of the two of them!
Thanks for the follow too, Maggiemae. why did you decide to follow?

they were probably tranquillized by that vapour rub stuff you used yesterday

Very cute shot Katy! You're up and about so you must be feeling better?

@tara11 Thanks, Tara! I feel about the same! I took some aspirin before church and it helped but I am now home in my jammies. Glad you like the shot! I took it from the truck window!

Favorite for me, the doe's hair is beautiful and the fawn in the shadow brings a separation that makes the photo more natural. Lovely photo.

@grammyn Yea, I'm the same too. Never left the house though. I so hope that I feel better tomorrow! You too!

I was really waiting to see which shot you would use. It was an awesome setting!

Beautiful capture ... you were very lucky!! Did you capture this from the truck? Love their eyes and alert ears. Today I crept quietly up to a tree to capture an eagle sitting way up in a high branch. But "old eagle eye" saw me coming and flew off. No capture and I froze half to death trying. Oh well .....

Looks like you got Mamma and baby.
I can't believe they didn't take off with the sound of the truck.

@dauber I really appreciate it RL. I actually had to "erase" a rather large branch that crossed the back and side of the doe and the face of the fawn. Your comment makes me believe I was successful with that edit! Thanks you so much for the nice words and the FAV!
