So, our severe weather ended up being just lots of rain for our area which was needed. It gave all the plants a good soaking including my poinsettia which I set outside this week since our weather has warmed up considerably. It also left tons of water jewels on it!
@jayberg Actually it is from one that someone threw away for 2011 and I transplanted it ! It started getting red bracts right after Christmas this year and is now in full "bloom" I have tried to force them before with no luck! This is the first time I have ever had one to turn and I had nothing to do with it!
@onie LOL! don't worry about it. I hope you had a fabulous time. your pictures are great of your trip.
Thanks for taking the time to look and comment, Onie.
I always forget that pointsettias are not just for the holidays, they are such a beautiful plant. Love the water droplets and the colours are incredible.
@masosy Thanks so much, Kate. I don't know if you read a much earlier post where I said I rescued these from the side of the road two years ago. Around here people throw them out after Christmas. I bring them home an plant them in a pot. This is the first time I have ever got one to re-bloom. I really did nothing except water it so I guess it just bloomed again on its own.
You must hVe a green thumb! No poinsettias I get in Dec. Make it to spring! Haha. We have loved the rain! Lake lanier is ABOVE POOL right now with more rain to come. So when you come over this summer it will look pretty! Do you swim in lakes? I have found that some people do not. I grew up doing it, so not a big deal to me!
@espyetta I think most plants thrive on a little neglect because that is what they get from me. I hope the water stays up. I grew up swimming in the Columbia River so I am not bothered by un-chlorinated water!
@grammyn yay! It will be fun! What about jumojng off the top of the dock into the lake? That did take me a while to do.....but it is only about 10 feet above the water. Anyway...I am looking forward to it!
I've n
Been away for the weekend....so hard to catch up with all the photos!
