Katy's sister Marilyn here...
"As you can see I will not be posting for awhile. On Tuesday I was in a car accident and broke my arm and my neck, hence the halo brace. I will probably be leaving the hospital on Sunday, the 28th, but I will not be leaving the halo brace behind for at least 90 days! I will try to either update here occasionally or maybe I will wait until I am ready to start taking pictures."
Oh how awful... poor katy... I would love the send her some flowers Marilyn. Here is my email lesip@verizon if you could send me her address... will keep her in my prayers for a speedy recovery...
Oh dear Lord! ! While this is terrible news, at least you are alive and able to recover. That part is VERY good news.
I've been absent from 365 for several days, but I guess I signed on at the right time and saw this at the top of my dashboard.
Follow the dr's orders, dear Katy. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Hope you make a speedy recovery. *reaches gently around halo to give a hug* :-)
Katy, I just wondering about you! I can see that it takes something drastic to keep you off of 365. Very seriously I wish you a well recovery and hope you are without too much pain.
OH MY GOSH, NO! NO! This cannot be happening. I am so so sorry, Katy. I pray for you, your family, your doctors, your nurses....Please get better soon! Love ya! (and I love your spirit! To get a pic up on 365 after this....has to be one of the most amazing things ever!) Get well!
Wow, how quickly things change in life. Katy, you are in my thoughts and prayers, and praying for a healthy recovery from this accident. Marilyn, thank you so much for updating us.....Blessing to you and everyone there.

Oh.................my darling girl!!! I second all that @anazad has said.......how awful the last couple of days must have been for you.....I wish I was there! I know that you are surrounded by family, real and virtual friends who will all be praying for your recovery....and I know that you will not be letting a halo cramp your style---once you are used to it! Obviously this is God's way of reminding everyone that you truly are an angel on this earth, and a wonderful friend to so many of us. Thanks Marilyn for this post....hugs to you both xx

Then she saw the name and connected it to what i told her about you visiting me and the she delivered the horrible news. I am praying for you. I know you are strong and can make it....just focus on getting better and knowing we are all thinking about you......love you bunches.....sending a hug....

Hope all the well wishes on 365 remind you how we all love your fabulous spirit and hoping you have a speedy recovery. Looking forward to having you back with us and all your family soon. x
Her husband:
Finally got her home today. She was doing well until they decided to tighten her screws. It was a major setback relative to pain level. She is in extreme pain 8-9 level but I just gave her some kicking Percocet and she is resting well. She was a little depressed when the doctors surgeon nurse told her six months. The doctor said 90 days. Knowing Katy, I would say the doctor is right.
@prn thank you very much for the updates! Katy is going to get recovered soon, so many people thinking of her! Cant imagine how painful and hard all this, but luckily so much support for Katy. Get better sooner, dearest. Each day should be easier, the hardest is behind. Hugs from Russia!!!
@prn Please give my love to Katy, and tell her that I think so much of her and pray for her recuperation. Glad she is back home. I appreciate if you can keep us with updates; I wish I could be a little more useful than writing notes.
Thank you so much for letting us know, Marilyn. To you, dear Katy, I am so sorry that this has happened to you and so glad that you are ok, well as ok as you can be right now. I wish you the very best as you recover as you know that I had a neck injury 22 years ago by a Chiropractor and would not wish the road I have been on for anybody, having worn a brace to hold my neck and head totally still for quite some time. Sure made it hard to sleep and had to find that comfortable place in bed. May you heal well and fast and may pain that you feel improve with every day. Stay strong and know that there are a lot of us pulling for you and right there with you in spirit. Deb @deburahiru told me tonight what happened as I have not been keeping up as much as I would like to and did not know this happened to you. She and I went to High School together and she followed me on to 365. Hugs and more hugs to you, Katy.
Her husband:
She is finally home home! She made the travel from our gracious neighbors house. I have her upstairs in our extra room. She is very positive and spunky. Healing will be a very long time but she ie a real trooper and will heal despite all odds. Marilyn and I have read all of the postings which would always generate an aww or a big smile. She loves her 365 family and thanks everyone for the kind comments.
Katy - Think of you everyday and pray each day gets a little easier and your are much better. Do have someone give us an update when they can. - Love, - Sheila
Katy, I think of you every day. Wish there was a way to get in touch with you besides 365. Love you dearly. Every time I take an abstract, I think of you.
I have only just noticed this but I was pleased to read that you are now home and recovering slowly. I hope things continue to improve for you but in the meantime rest up and take care.
Katy - I am checking in and sending you hugs and prayers for a speedy recovery. Look at all the comments - so many people who love you and sending you healing thoughts and missing you. When I see Mt Rainier poking out from the clouds, I think of you and 'your' mountain.
Just in case anyone does not read comments above....here is a link to Katy's husband's project where he is posting pics and updates daily. We are so happy he is doing that! http://365project.org/prn/365/2013-11

@prn thank you for the update. I have no doubt Katy will recover quickly......she does have a lot of spunk and fiestiness - you can tell just from the interactions we have on 365 with her. Hugs to all involved!
Just logged in after being away for a good while. So sorry to hear about the accident and I send you my best wishes. It's also inspiring to see the support the community here provides.
