Natural Light

I was thinking abstract but this probably doesn't quite make it. Tell me what you think. I am thrilled that it is SOOC though
Now that the pics open so large, I can no longer see who shot the pic...I just saw this WONDERFUL pic and was like "okay...scrolling down to see who took this winner." and it was YOU!. I do not think of it as abstract, but we will see what others say. Fav

Meg
I wouldn't call it abstract, but it is really appealing with the black shade and darkness and then the cross in silver...really good.

Love this Katy, beautiful light and shades.

Really lovely - I like what this month is doing to our pics, even if not abstract!

The first thing that caught my eye in this was the silver 'cross' of the lamp stand. Beautiful.

Yes but what is abstract, if it is abstract to the person taking the shot it fits. That is my rule! I like it like Jo Ann's unintentional pun too
April 5th, 2014
I'm not sure about the abstract, but I like the shadow.
April 5th, 2014
Love the moodiness of this! The shadows are awesome and I love the way the light hits the metal bas of the lamp. Really nicely done!!
April 5th, 2014
Not sure if it could be called truly abstract but it certainly has the wow factor for atmosphere and composition...fav

like the simplicity....rather film-noir like.....
April 6th, 2014
@jayberg I was trying to figure why it appealed to me! you nailed it I think!

April 6th, 2014
@jmrittle Thanks so much, Marc. It is really forcing me to look differently at things. I had lost some of that freshness over time i think!
April 6th, 2014
@leananiemand Your photos are always so good, Leana that I really appreciate the positive comments from you.
April 6th, 2014
I'm like the others--not sure it's an abstract (except I couldn't define abstract if you asked me...) but it's w wonderful moody shot.
April 6th, 2014
@eudora Usually an abstract is something that is difficlut to identify so this probably is not one but I still liked the shapes and content of it. Thanks for you kind words.
April 6th, 2014
Almost religious. Very stark

April 7th, 2014

Vee
Beautiful tones on this...I think that if you cropped the base of the lamp out, it would be very abstract as it would focus on the shape and lines rather than it's function and use.
April 8th, 2014
@vskolnik Thanks Vee and you are so right. The problem is that now that I have seen it like this I like it more than I want it to be abstract. A good lesson learned for the future though. You do such a fabulous job with yours.
