On The Hearth

Winter is setting in for a few days which means lots of time around the fire.

For a view of this old teakettle before I painted it see here. http://365project.org/grammyn/everything-else/2012-02-25

What a wonderful result for this iconic kettle which I suppose is supposed to go on the coal stove. Interesting to see the handle which is designed to be able to pick the kettle up when it's hot! Going to be a thick jersey too for the future- hope its quicker than my last one which took three years!

Wow, what a difference! Your paint job has really brought it to life.

You are right. That old teakettle needed some help. The black really stands out.

@lesip Paint can fix almost anything can't it!? I started a scarf months ago with a different kind of stitch than i usually use and it got set aside and now I can't remember where l was in the pattern!

@deb60 Good eye! It is a project I started a while back. Thanks!

@claireuk Thanks bunches Claire! always good to hear from you! Happy New Year to you as well!

@maggiemae It was definitely made to go on an old stove but now is more decorative than functional! The knitting may very well end up as yours although it is a scarf and should take less time it is a new pattern and I have forgotten where I was with it and may have to start over!

@kwiksilver Thanks ! It is amazing the transformation paint can make isn't it?!
January 12th, 2016
@tunia Thanks Tunia! I am really happy with the way it looks now!

@olivetreeann Thanks Ann! Other than move the iron a little to the left this is how the kettle, knitting, and iron were sitting already! I should probably ut the knitting away befroe it gets dusty but i keep thinking I will come back to it on one of these cold winter nights! I might be more inclined if there weren't so much to do on 365!

@linnypinny Thanks Lin! I am glad you think so!
January 12th, 2016
I like both views of the kettle. Or you could just leave the knitting as a decoration...
