Bloom and Bug

Don't I find some catchy titles? The bloom is Society Garlic a mild flowering garlic. The bug is...anybody's guess but a colorful contrast to the bloom.

Have you ever seen a bug like this dad?♥

that's a BIG BUG .... great closeup

Checked in my bug book and I think it could be a Large Milkweed Bug- according to Audubon they are known to sip nectar from other garden plants and crops as well and since this one seems to be sipping nectar from a garlic plant it seems logical to come to that conclusion. Good shot Katy!

Hey there! It is a type of Shield or assassin bug I think. I learned from the great @robv Robert Velten that there are so many types of these bugs in this group.... So hard for me to say exactly but Robert can.
