Decoy

A quick trip to the park produced some very obliging ducks for my adventure in black and white this month. This one was swimming around with a couple of white ones and had more contrast than they did so he became my subject.
Lovely detail showing

Your title says decoy - is this a real decoy? They make them so cleverly nowadays its surprising one isn't shot!

The effect that the high key treatment had on this shot is really cool. I can't stop looking at all the detail it brought out- and that doesn't usually happen in high key!

@dawnee @maggiemae @swguevin @slash @sarasotab @sdutoit @kwiksilver @francoise @henrir @summerfield @eudora @ruthmouch Thank you so much for each of your positive and supportive comments on this duck. He was very definitely real but his markings are so perfect that he looks fake.I really liked his colors and wasn't sure how they would convert to B&W but I rather like the effect. Thanks again

@olivetreeann I am so happy to hear how much you like this. Truthfully some of the detail came out better because of the NIK processing and there is a bit of noise that may have been an added advantage in this particular case but I really wouldn't know as much about all that as you.

I love the way he contrast against the water and the fact that you got his reflection too!
