Tooth of the Lion by grammyn

Tooth of the Lion

Some say the name for this came from the French for tooth of the lion....dent de lion. A romantic notion for a commonplace flower. I really wanted to shoot the ones that had already gone to seed but since yellow is the color of the day this is my offering. I will have to wait a while now to get the puffy ones because I mowed right after I took this and they are all gone.
Fabulous

Interesting to find out why this name was given to the common flower. I imagine that a lions tooth might be as rare as 'hens' teeth"!

Well, the one thing about Dandelions is that if you don't get the root, you know they'll be back! Good shot!

What a great closeup shot, Katy. Love all the detail. I grew up with these in our yard but keep them away now. Too bad though, my loss. FAV
