Grandma's Rings by grammyn

Grandma's Rings

These rings belonged to the woman who inspired me to start finishing college two years ago. They were my mother's mother's rings and when my mother passed I inherited them. It took me a while to realize I should wear them every day and some time before l started school two years ago I started doing just that. I wore them through every chapter I read, every paper I wrote, and every test I took. I wore them on the day l walked across the stage to receive my diploma so I felt as if my grandmother was also there with me for that occasion. I still wear them every day and I am so grateful for the inspiration she provided me.
What a beautiful way to be inspired. I'm glad they saw you through so much. Very well captured!!

Beautiful! The rings and the narrative! I am lucky that mom’s wedding set fits perfectly with my own ring so I wear them together. 💞

And the initial presentation of the diamond engagement ring to Gramdma sharing your birthday makes the connection full circle for all of the college graduates! Lovely photo and narrative!

What a wonderful photo and narrative - My mom and dad gave me a ring for my 16th birthday, with the first diamond that dad gave mom when she was that age. My most prized possession. Thanks for sharing your story ♥

What beautiful rings and a lovely idea to wear them but what with your own wedding rings, they might have had to be on the other hand?

what a wonderful way to honour your grandmother and taking inspiration from her at the same time. of course, you must wear them everyday, that's how she would've wanted you to do. aces on the presentation. you are an inspiration to others. i'm thinking seriously (at times only) if i should go back to the old country and finish off my law degree. but older students are not a popular idea there. plus what am i to do with another degree when i never even used the one i already had. but i am seriously considering taking formal piano lessons. but that would mean i need to buy a piano. 😂

@summerfield I found myself saving the rings for something special and realized there were not that many "something specials" in my life anymore. One day it occured to me she wore them every day of her life and they were meant to be worn that way still. That is when l started wearing them all the time. Thank you for you always kind words.
Going back to school was a real challenge for me but knowing I would never need to apply any of it made it easier for me. Most of it was online too so my age made very little difference to the process. I am excited about you possible taking piano lessons though!
