Crews go through Texas forests and cut the kudzu vines off at ground level to kill them and keep them from topping the trees and killing them. A horrible invasive vine, for sure.
It makes for a very interesting photo. I have never heard of kudzu. Sounds a bit scary. Let's hope it doesn't start taking over Alabama and that a movie isn't made about how it will overtake the world....
I had never heard of kudzu. Learnt that they can be very invasive and are considered noxious weeds. The plant is edible, but often sprayed with herbicides.
@louannwarren I don't think anyone does that here. It almost always dies off in the winter though
@milaniet It certainly does thanks so much Milanie
@ludwigsdiana thank you Diana here is some info about it https://www.nature.org/en-us/about-us/where-we-work/united-states/indiana/stories-in-indiana/kudzu-invasive-species/
@madamelucy LOL! Thank you so much and I think it might be too late, See the link above
@monikozi so very nice of you!
@koalagardens wow thanks so much!
@wakelys I had never heard of it until I moved to Alabama either
@la_photographic I really appreciate that Laura thank you!
@gijsje You learned a lot! I don't think it is all sprayed here so some of it could be used for food or even medicine I have been told
