Half and half can be boring at times so I try to find unusual subjects. This poor armadillo might have been a baby and didn't make it across the road this morning but I thought it was definitely a subject most others would not post! There was a lot of humidity in the air, which is where the picture is not as clear as I would like.
That is an unusual subject and most of us probably wouldn't have guessed it wasn't a live shot since we don't see them often- or at all in my case! It does make a nice abstract half and half.
@Dawn thanks Dawn and good to know I am not the only one @olivetreeann I don't think he would have stood still for a live shot but he really wasn't mangled that I could tell either thanks Ann @shutterbug49 Thank you Debbie I always feel bad to see wild aninmals that didn't make it across the street like this @ludwigsdiana Thanks Diana and yes it is @30pics4jackiesdiamond yes we do and according to Britannica " Only one species, the nine-banded armadillo (Dasypus novemcinctus), is found in the United States. Its range has expanded into several southern states since it was first observed in Texas during the 1800s." @kjarn thanks so much Kathy @rensala II felt bad too Thanks Renee @wakelys yes it is. We see them mostly dead because they are nocturnal but only maybe once or twice a year @tunia LOL You are probably right! @eudora I am the same but I think because this one appeared to be a baby it touched me more. @randystreat he does kind of blend i with the road doesn't he? Also the sun hadn't come up yet and I didn't use a flash
Oh, dear. I am surprised this isn’t a photo of a live one as he doesn’t appear to be flattened. I always feel sorry for little animals who die on the road. Such a lonely, inhospitable place to lie dying…Sorry, I shouldn’t be putting myself in this depressing state of mind.
