A men's club at our church had a blood drive today. I try to give whenever I can so after church I did. Last time I gave I was upset that I had forgotten my camera. This time I remembered!
eek, i've wanted to give blood for ages as i have a blood group that is one of the lowest of stocks, but unfortunately i have ME so they don't want my blood, and it can leave me ill apparently if i do donate
@trumpetman OOps I should have read ALL my comments first! ;~} The challenges are in the hot topics and latest discussions part of the dashboard. You can also go to discuss and they are listed there in the pull down!
@grammyn - yeah its frustrating, esp since my dad had a heart transplant too and its a way of giving back but i guess its just one of those things, but thank you for helping to save those lives like my dad's
I am a huge blood donor fan, but I never actually watch the needle going in, so seeing this fabulously detailed close-up of the needle make me cringe a bit! :) And I will try not to think of it the next time I donate! :) Or next week when I go for my annual blood draw... :)
@marilyn I usually don;t look either but it would have been a little difficult to get a good shot without looking. As it was it was tricky using only one hand and trying to hold the arm still!
Scream! Is that your arm? I have given blood and more often platelets, but I don't like to SEE the needle! It feels like a BROOMSTICK it is so huge and your arm never stops hurting! Esp. after platelets which take about 1 hr and 30 min. to give. And in the old days, you had to have needles in both arms....so if your nose ran, forget it! Haha
@espyetta LOL! You are so funny! Only you would worry about your nose running, I am a fast bleeder and can fill a bag in 5 minutes or less so no problem. Yes that IS my arm! It Was a little difficult to take the photo but I am always up for a challenge! ;~}
