I was carrying groceries in today when l saw a butterfly.....in December.....it is supposed to be the beginning of winter! After putting everything away I went back out with my camera in search of that butterfly but all I could find was flowers. This Camelia is from a tree that I took a starter from and transplanted in a different part of the yard about five years ago. It looks to be loaded with buds so I am expecting more beautiful flowers like this!
Oh, this is beautiful, Katy! One of my favorite flowers. I never had any luck with camellias in Louisiana (it was me, not the climate!) My mother-in-law had beautiful ones in Virginia. Hope you get load of blooms.
@summerfield I hope so! this is prettier than I rememberd it being! @francoise Thanks Francoise! I actually like the white stripes in it too! @kwiksilver so kind of you to say! thanks so much!
@pasadenarose thanks for your erudite confirmation! LOL! I thought it was a gorgeous one too! I don't know the name but I'm about to look it up. Maybe after church. The interesting thing is that the "mother" tree did not have any striped blooms on it. They were all a solid pink!
@francoise Thanks Francoise! I actually like the white stripes in it too!
@kwiksilver so kind of you to say! thanks so much!
You're welcome. ;-)
