Another female Grackle. She is either checking out her toenails or perhaps she has spotted a bug.
I did not notice that the bush had little berries on it until I loaded the photos onto my computer. No photo ops today, had doctor appointment and then got stuck downtown in super heavy traffic due to rain and wrecks.
Thank you for viewing and commenting.
I am still trying to catch up on comments, I will get there eventually.
@kerristephens Thanks! @skipt07 Thanks! I do not like them, but they seem to be taking over and running all the smaller birds away. @leilaboyd Thank you! @yonnie Thank you!
@grannysue - We once had a Douglas fir growing next to our house and every year it was full of grackle nests. We finally had the tree removed and the grackles became less of a nuisance. I believe I heard or read they are protected song birds. I never heard them make a sound that I would consider them a song bird>
@tonygig There are so very many here. The females are the dull brown. Check out my album and you will see some of the male ones also, they are better looking.
@cimes1 Thank you, Carol! The males are actually better looking, but I must admit, I really don't like Grackles, they are funny to watch sometimes. They tend to run the song birds away when they move in and take over.
@glb484 Thank you! Yes, sometimes you find things you did not see with your eyes. The males are better looking than the females. I have some shots of the male ones in my album. @lasco Laurie, thank you! See my answer to Gina just above/
You "nail"ed it! :)

@leilaboyd Thank you!
@yonnie Thank you!
@myautofocuslife Thanks! Grackles seem to be always hungry, never full.
@bankmann Thanks! Grackles give everything the evil eye, they have the most intense stare.
