Texas Longhorn Steer by grannysue

Texas Longhorn Steer

Love those horns! Saw lots of things to photograph today, then my battery died in my camera. Yes, I left my camera bag at home once again, was only going 8 - 10 miles away. I did get photos of 2 Longhorns, some Angus, a few deer and a turkey before the battery quit.

Stunning shot! I like how you captured one of the horns against the sky - the wonderful shape is shown up very clear. No question, that's a favourite one ♥

@triciaodonnell @yaorenliu Thank you for viewing and commenting. Most likely this steer is not mean, may be fairly tame.

@vernabeth Thank you, Beth, I appreciate it. The Longhorns are prized for their big horns, the bigger the better. The ones on the steers grow longer and are more impressive than the ones on cows and bulls. It must be really uncomfortable for them to get around in tight places.

@mittens @philiplegrovehotmailcouk Thank you for viewing and commenting. My husband honked the horn on the truck to get the steer to look at me. A lot of the ranchers honk their horns to get the cattle to come to them for feeding.

@craftymeg @happypat Thank you both for viewing and your comments. I personally would keep a fence between me and any bovine creature, but this one is probably well used to humans.
