View from De Burcht

11.36 am: We paid an unplanned visit to De Burcht this morning, a medieval fortification in the city center. I'm glad we did because it was very beautiful there with the fallen leaves and the autumn light. The entrance door offers a lovely view of the gothic Hooglandse Kerk.
