6.33 pm: For small children in The Netherlands this time of year is all about Sinterklaas or Saint Nicholas. He goes around town by night on his white horse, accompanied by his helper Zwarte Piet (or Black Peter), to give presents to children who have behaved well over the past year.
Two Sinterklaas figurines have found their way to our younger daughter's bedroom, where they are keeping guard at her bedside. I took this quick Hipstamatic shot of them which turned out to be the only photo I took today. So I uploaded it despite the blur and the less than perfect lighting.
