I loved the colours in this photo. It was taken the other day when we went to Lancaster. This shop is on the corner of the little street I posted on Friday looking towards the Castle. It was fascinating looking through the window at all the beautiful dresses inside. She seems to make them all herself as well as all the accessories too.
It reminded me of the lovely time when my daughter & I were looking for her wedding dress & trying different ones on. We did go to some beautiful shops & tried as many on while she had the chance ! I was also lucky enough to be very involved with the arrangements for both daughters in law which was lovely & a real bonus!
This shop was in a lovely position near the Priory Church & Castle & the lovely mellow stonework made it very inviting!
Lovely! I think Laura would enjoy a visit in here!!
We love Lancaster and have stopped several times on our travels.
Perhaps the funniest memory was the Sunday morning we went to the service at the Priory Church ( lovely place) ....the local girls school recorder group were playing while people went forward for communion. When their repertoire ran out they improvised by playing Nellie the Elephant!!!!! I still remember one of the clergy roll his eyes as we tried to stifle our giggles!
It is a lovely city.........small and intimate and very special!
@sarah19 I agree Sallie & you will be having fun soon choosing Laura's dress ..oh happy days !! Cathys children go to school in Lancaster & often use the Priory for bigger school events although they do have their own chapel.
@happypat Yes, they did have clothes on, Pat! Chanel dresses!!! lol That 's probably why the saleswoman told me to erase! Ha. I had no idea . .but have been told since that there's a "copy-right" issue. But, I never had a clerk appear so suddenly out of nowhere!!! lol
nice narrative and a lovely window shot Pat, i love how many of your shots have a very 'English' feel to them...maybe it's the area where you live .....or maybe it's what you do best as a photographer (that was a compliment btw) ..:)
Beautiful tones in this pic, I would love to have a look inside. Unfortunately I dont have a daughter so guess there wont be wedding dress shopping for me.
