Angels. by happypat

Angels.

As anyone who has been to my house knows I do love angels. I used to have a wall full of them, collected over the years by myself & very kind folk who bought them for me from all over the world. These are the only ones I have out now & I keep them on the top landing window sill. I might go through all my others picking out the nicest ones & reinstating them !

I seem to be struggling a little commenting on all your lovely photos & keeping up with everyone. When I first started I could more or less keep up with all my followers but I am finding this increasingly more difficult so please excuse me if I don't comment every time but I will do my best !!!!!
Oh, so many of them! That's a very lovely collection, Pat!)

A shelf of angels - marvellous. I'm a bit envious of your deep window sill as well Pat! It's very hard to keep up with everybody - I don't comment on everyone every night any more as it's just impossible - and I feel bad for not following more people but then my computer just doesn't go fast enough. I right click and open pics in a new window now which helps a bit but still.... And it will be worse when I get back on to the Blurb book which is taking me ages!

@judithg Sometimes I agree the computer is so slow switching between photos, worse sometimes than others ! Will be interested in your Blurb book , can you include the writing on the original entry or have you to rewrite a piece for each photo ?

Each one of these is so beautiful, Pat. So hard to eliminate some of them from our collections, isn't it? I have some of the Willow Tree ones and enjoy their simple look. Love your window ledge . . and great pov on this as one can gaze out across to the trees. Don't worry about commenting, Pat. I don't mind if you can't get around to it . . we can't always comment and accomplish all of the other things around us. I know that I've neglected so much since I started this. On the other hand, this project has given me so much back. Hard choices. :)

@karenann I do always try & comment on people who regularly comment on mine, like yourself, mainly because I feel I have a kindred spirit relationship which I love but also I have been trying to comment on people who follow me & I don't for one reason or another follow them. Also I have had a few new people follow & I would like to give some encouragement to them as I got when I was a new starter too. I will do my best !!! Ok if you keep up but if you miss a day praps best to move on !

hat a lovely collection :)

*what (oops!)
January 5th, 2012
Totally agree with you, Pat. I feel the same way about our "kindred spirit!" I wish that I could get the great photos that you do. You're one of my mentors. :) I try to support the newbies too . . comments kept me going when I started. But you can't do them all, and some never respond. Thanks, Pat. Appreciate the feedback.

@asf Hehe !! thanks for your comment !!
January 5th, 2012

@nyusha Thank you Anna but I think I must have about 100 angels in the attic !!

Love your angels and often remember you when I pass mine in the house. And I totally agree too with you and the others about 'kindred spirits' and the frustration of not being able to keep up with all the comments. Sometimes just have to walk away and hope they pop up next day. But it's lovely to look anyway and just enjoy what is being shared! xx

Hi Pat, it's me , Monica, haha! I was trying to fix or change my profile photo last night when I realized it was almost midnight and I had to go to bed. I am at work now so I don't have access to my photos. I hate that little digital icon you get when you haven't posted your own. Anyway, I love your collection of angels and that ledge seems perfect for them. I once collected sheep. I have to say that I am having the same problem keeping up with comments these days.Time seems to be an issue. I haven't even posted a photo for yesterday and when I do it tonight it will be a filler. I very much want to keep the dialogue going with the people I follow and those who follow me but, like you, I'm struggling at the moment. It's a big dilemma: you want to follow and you want to be followed so how do you deal with it if it gets to be overwhelming but you don't want to lose your connections? I don't think this is a problem for the professionals or quasi-professionals on this site, or those just much more talented that we regular folks, because lots of people will follow them and comment on their work and not expect them to reciprocate in the same measure. I don't know...maybe I'll find a way to strike the right balance in the next few weeks, months?

@happypat I was going to copy and paste but now the text sounds a bit odd so I might just write something new or just include the blurb for a few pics - I'm only on page 1 and I'm not happy with the layout yet. I'm sure it will speed up when I've worked out all of the features - I'm never going to finish my knitting with all this computerising!!!

@meisen325 How I agree with all you say but I think we have to accept we can't be all we hope to be & just have to do our best !! I am beginning to find it a bit of a chore at times & that is the last thing I want !!!! Funny I used to collect pigs !!! I think I might have close on 100 angels upstairs in the attic & some really pretty ones but decided to de clutter ! I enjoy your photos so much, I do tend to be a people person & enjoy all street scenes, travel & personal stuff & how folk live !! Not really a flower or plant person so don't tend to follow people who go down that route.

love them pat ~ wonderful to have a collection of angels ( i have my seashells )
January 5th, 2012
@judithg It sounds quite a project but once you get the hang of it am sure you will motor on !! I am going to try too when I have finished my365 days. Think the knitting will have to go on the back burner !!

@sarah19 Very true Sallie & you have to just do your best !!!
January 5th, 2012
angels and joy. what a beautiful theme. . .:)

What a lovely collection you have. Nice job capturing them. I find that back light from a window sometimes difficult to work with. As for commenting, I think you do a marvelous job with it. There are only so many hours in the day so I think we all just do our best.

I cannot get robbie williams out of my head now Pat !!!

And through it all she offers me protection
A lot of love and affection
Whether I'm right or wrong
And down the waterfall
Wherever it may take me
I know that life won't break me
When I come to call, she won't forsake me
I'm loving angels instead

Lovely words from you Pat for a lovely image

You remind me of one of my co-workers. She also loves angels, and has quite a nice collection
January 5th, 2012
What a beautiful collection, Pat.
January 5th, 2012
Gorgeous collection Pat - they are really pretty. I've not known anyone who collects angels. My daughter collects owls and she has a wonderful collection of these.

The commenting is a huge commitment with this project. It is one of the reasons I actually considered giving it away when I reached my 365. I think we all understand and nobody minds if you don't hear from each other for a while. We really need a like button, like on facebook, just to let friends know that we have visited and have enjoyed their pics, without feeling the need to comment. So, hang in there - and only do what you can. We love your pics and would hate you to stop. xox

What a fantastic collection. Bet it brings a little peace to your home ;-)

@phil_howcrof Ah Phil, I didn't see this last night, thank you so much for taking the trouble to write the words of that lovely song to remind me ...I had forgotten about Robbie's lovely Angel !
January 6th, 2012
@murnane That is such an excellent idea Marg... perfect for this project !!! I feel mean sometimes for not commenting on peoples projects specially when they are following me but i'm not for whatever reason following them ! I do like to keep in touch a bit with them !
January 6th, 2012
@karenann You are so kind Karen & you of all people are the best commenter of any one I know on here ...sometimes I have to scroll for ages to get to the bottom of your questions & answers !! Thank you for your LOVELY words always ! x
January 6th, 2012
@murnane Thank you too Marg I forgot that when answering you !! It has been lovely getting to know all on this site & would really miss it !! Keeps me out of the shops, takes me on healthy walks , & see the world ..what's not good ? !

I love the funky angel on the left. And I'm so encouraged by the above dialogue as I've been finding it hard recently to comment regularly. But, like you, I certainly try to follow those who are 'kindred spirits' and see what they've been up to during the day. It's such an enriching experience - and lots of fun too.
January 6th, 2012
Pretty little angels. You have always been very diligent at commenting - don't ever feel you have to comment on all my pics - life is very busy and short!
January 7th, 2012
I love your delightful angel collection, Pat! Such a charming shot of the group! Don't put too much pressure on yourself to comment on all photos...it takes the fun out of the project. Some days it's hard enough to find time to even post a photo...much less make comments. Like Jennifer, I make a special effort to check in with those folks that I feel a special connection. But even then I find myself getting behind. I guess we just do the best we can. :)

@jmj @islawight @peggysirk Thank you girls !!!
January 7th, 2012
They obviously seem to enjoy each others company on the windowsil. It's a very nice collection, Pat.
January 7th, 2012
I am finding sometimes geting behind now too, but would miss the comments if I stopped now. Love the angel, would like to be the one on the right but after xmas more like the one on the left LOL.
