Let us out please! by happypat

Let us out please!

Our chickens lined up peering trough the fence at next doors visiting hens who are allowed to come across & wander all round our garden!!!!
They are not happy even though they have a large part of field to scratch around in.
Shut up every night in the hen house safe from Mr. Fox whereas next doors hens have sisters had their heads off!

Three good things:
1. A glorious day.
2.My regular B&B back tonight after time laid off work.
3. Scraping the barrel here & I can't think of another today!!!!!
great crop on this one - they don't know how lucky they are...better to be safe from Mr Fox I reckon, besides, it's gotta be warmer in the hen house than outside!! I think I'm going to struggle on my 3 goodies today too, unless something miraculous happens on the way home!!

@sparkle Not always easy to think of three!!!!!

Yes, the grass is always greener on the other side though not always safer if you can get your head munched off by a fox! Not easy to explain that to the hens, is my guess. I love the photo - very funny.

I'm glad I am not a chicken but I do love freshly laid eggs.

@meisen325 I give mine a regular talking to - they tell me they'd like me to stop talking and hand over the meal worms. Hope those visitors aren't scratching up your garden @happypat

@judithg Haha! Can anybody keep hens in the garden in England?
November 5th, 2012
@meisen325 I think you are expected to show some courtesy to your neighbours (ie don't keep a cockerel and don't encourage rats) but I don't know if there are any specific restrictions. There are strange and strict rules about whether you can sell the eggs though - mostly based on laws brought in to limit Foot and Mouth disease I think!

Very nice crop of these chicken. I would love to see the full bodies, not only the heads...

@judithg How nice. Here you have to be in a rural setting almost, though I think things might be slowly changing in some urban areas with more enlightened demographics.

Fabulous crop and love the story!

Haha - a lovely peek-a-boo!

@judithg Well they do a bit of scratching Judith much to Harry's annoyance sometimes. Our garden isn't too bad as we haven't many flower beds to do too much damage, mostly shrubs & trees.
Perhaps we should give the visitors a good talking to !!!

@meisen325 Thank Monica & we do love our hens even though Judith & I make out there is a little bit of work I wouldn't like to without them now. I think too any one can keep hens & apparently the biggest hobby in the UK.

You have to realise these hens have only a bird brain! No reasoning goes on in their minds!

Don't think i'd allow visitors to scratch in my garden....too soft you are girl!! I'm sure they are happy as Larry!!
