Penny Street in Lancaster is a hive of small individual shops, most of them open & busy.
Quite a lot of ethnic shops full of hand made jewellery, clothes & stuff the students from Lancaster University buy.
A young persons town it is very compact with lots of quaint passages & of course the Castle which over looks the town.
Harry has bought himself a camera today, a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX2OV ready for our trip.
I tried out a 10-22 wide angle lens....fantastic & that will be my next buy after I have saved up again after NZ..
Thought I might be treated but not today!!!!!!
Three good things:
1. An interesting look round the camera shop & a try out of a new lens.
2. Lovely pizza & garlic batons in Belle Italiano.
3. We saw Cathy enjoying her Thursday afternoon job in Scholes.
I would love to take a walk around a place like that. I love little shops and quaint passages and jewelry. Always like to take home a piece from a trip.
Lovely street scene. I googled this location and was able to do a street view and "walk" around. I saw a "Horse and Farrier" Thwaites Fine Beer and Ale that looked interesting!!! Fun!
looks like a fun part of town. you will love the wide angle...it is useful for more than just wide scenery shots, it takes great close ups...such as flowers and even nice for family group shots.
Good shot. The one on the right is giving yuou a stare Pat!!! I would be buying that 10-22mm because you surely will need it in NZ!! Probably even cheaper on Amazon than in a camera shop and the Sigma even cheaper!
@seanoneill Have looked on Amazon & it is cheaper, I wondered if it might be cheaper in Singapore? If i hadn't been going travelling I would have snapped it up Sean!!!!
Love this fantastic street scene! Just bustling with activity and character. Good for Harry for finding a camera for the trip and it sounds like you have a great lens on your wish list. What a fun day.
