I have had my eye on this cottage every time I go to a friends house.Today I had nothing better so vowed to stop & take a proper picture when I went back from taking my friend home.
Just as I pulled up the lady of the house drove in & parked just to the right of this photo...the house is twice as long as this. I waited until she went in this door, a quick snap & I drove off in a hurry!
Three good things:
1. All the sweet comments on my yesterdays selfie photo...you are all lovely!
2. A happy day lunching with a friend & then the cinema to see 'Quartet' which I must say I was quite disappointed in ....a bit boring I thought!
3. A present for Tui from NZ...a lovely new collar with pictures of bones on....she is suitably grateful & the other has gone in the wash!!!
That's huge! I have had my eye on a tasteful little cottage for a while but I'm too embarrassed to get close enough! Shame about Quartet as a great cast. I was telling Nigel at lunchtime we should go - and for added interest a woman I vaguely know (been dog-walking in a group with her, kids at Adam's school etc) has her father-in-law playing himself in the retirement home and her daughter running through as an extra. Turns out Nigel was just nodding - no idea what I was talking about! Maybe we won't bother.... Collar sounds lovely - I've ordered a new one for Monty but there's no sign - I'm not sure the girl who took the order was competent.
@judithg Perhaps I wasn't in the mood today Judith...you go & see what
you think...would be interested in others thoughts on it! Lovely cast of actors & retired musicians playing themselves but it didn't rock my boat.
If you know of people in it you must go I think!!!
Such a charming cottage! Glad you waited out the homeowner to give us a look at this lovely place. :) I love the blue door and the latticed windows. It looks like there are two pair of eyes watching you from that lower right window...
Delightful cottage. I agree about Quartet. Peter was singularly unimpressed and I thought it was disappointing. Thought it would have been superbly funny with that cast but sadly not. I was impressed with the credits at the end though showing the credentials of the cast.
Great door and charming shot. Interesting looking roof as well. I can imagine how you felt. I was out walking Rosie this morning and ironically looking at doors on older homes but felt intimidated to stop and photograph them. Need to work on that!
Glad you were able to get the house without the car though I have got an app that removes cars - posted a before and after shot. Blue doors are nicer than red ones I think!
A lovely cottage. I wonder what it is like inside.
I went to see Quartet and came away thinking I hope I don't end up in a place like that but must keep up the piano playing just in case.
@judithg At the end it gives a list & picture of all the proper musicians taking part which is an excellent idea. I also remember the little girl who was visiting her ''grandfather'', she was on for a couple of minutes & was very sweet!
