Stripes.

A bad day with the computer so have had to post this picture. I think the computer is slowly on the blink...it has a mind of it's own lately & only works when it feels like it!!!
It is so old I can't actually remember when we bought it ....Harry has a laptop which I use for commenting but always download my pictures on this main computer & I have had such a struggle today.

Three good things:
1. We have been to the garage tonight for a complimentary car health check, wash & vac & free Indian curry. ( Plus hard sell of course! )
2. I have been on a bike ride to pick my subscription up at the chemist...not very pleasant as too cold but hope did me good!
3. Samples of wallpaper came.
Love the lines and gorgeous tones in this, Pat! I'm so sorry you're having issues with your computer...but I thought you bought a new one before you went to New Zealand??
So were they giving out free curry with the wash and vac at the garage? That's different. :)

Oh dear sounds like a new one is needed. This is good though with the dramatic lines and the lone figure.

@peggysirk Yes free wash & vac, health check for car & free curry...can't be bad if you can resist the sell!!! I decided not to buy a computer before I went away & had a complete break which was good. Thank Peggy for your continued support!

Maybe an excuse for a new computer is a good thing! I got on my bike today - horrible - freezing and the gears need oiling or something. Love your shot - very 1920's feel.

@boxplayer See how it is tomorrow Isla , will resist as long as possible, it could be fine in the morning!!

Well, the computer may not be working well but the camera certainly is, Pat. Great lines here and another one for the weekly theme!

@judithg My hands were so cold... I vowed that was it until the weather got warmer!! Took some photos of fancy bikes at the garage tonight, might use one tomorrow!

@barbsmith Thanks Barb, not sure if I have written the theme words right but last time I looked it hadn't gone on the theme post site.

@mgozzard Thank Margaret1

@sabresun I did quite like this myself Matt, funny how you take some shots & they turn out better than you think. I hadn't really noticed the shadows until I uploaded!

@happypat Only thing I don't like about it is the black cinematic bands. I hate it when people do that to photos. There, I've said it! :)

I do like to see the seats here at the side - as if they expect someone to be walking! I do think computers are more important than wallpaper!
February 21st, 2013
Great lines and the hooded sitter is a good addition. Sorry re the computer. I am so grateful for my new one!
February 21st, 2013
Just coming back to fav this - it is very reminiscent of those great American photographers who did seaside shots in California etc - who somebody better educated than me could name!
February 21st, 2013
@sabresun Reall Matt I thought I was being quite adventurous too!!! I quite like them on some photos but each to his own....... an interesting question, we could have vote!!!!
February 21st, 2013
@maggiemae This is on the promenade at Blackpool maggiemae & there are seats like this the whole way along about two miles in all...well used too! You can see the sea through the railings.
February 21st, 2013
@maggiemae I agrre about the computer re wallpaper but room needs decorating before B&B season starts!!
February 21st, 2013
@happypat They make no odds when the photo is enlarged, it's when seen before that that they appear a bit 'in your face' I think.
February 21st, 2013
@jgpittenger Is your new one a laptop or whatever the other is with hard drive tower. We have one laptop but the other in the office is a static one, wouldn't know which would be best , will have to check it out.
February 21st, 2013
@sabresun Yes I see what you mean now, they are a bit dominant I suppose !! thanks for your thought Matt.
February 21st, 2013
@happypat Mine is a desk top ( with tower)
February 21st, 2013
@jgpittenger Yes I think that's what we will probably go for in the end for the main computer. Thanks Jane.

I love the lines and shadows. Wonderful composition and tones too!
February 21st, 2013
Oh dear re the computer. Hope it decides to cooperate tomorrow!! Love the lines in this shot - as well as the composition. The solitary figure in the distance really adds perspective.
