The beautiful outside seating area at the Shireburne Arms in Hurst Green. Unfortunately it was raining hard most of the day so we were unable to take advantage but the sheep were not put off, these sheep had escaped out of the field & were eating the lawn & flowerbeds.
We were treated to afternoon tea & then about 25 of us had a fantastic walk around the area of Stonyhurst college ....apparently it was one of the Tolkein Walks, the author of the Lord of the Rings, J. R. R. Tolkein wrote some of his work while staying at Stoneyhurst.
It was very picturesque but unfortunately I could not take any photos as it was raining very hard....I will definitely go back very soon when the sun is out.
Later we enjoyed a very delicious meal.
This photo was taken through glass.
I am way behind with my commenting & am out again tonight at a Lady Farmers do so please excuse me!!!!
Three good things:
1. Family & friends.
2. Catching up with all the news.
3. It only rained warm rain unlike today when it's sun & hailstones!!!
Ow ! ow ! oow !! Have they escaped to the greener grass on the other side - or is this the environmental friendly way to mow the lawns --just mind the little lamb that he doesn't eat the poisonous daffodil !!( does the title mean Garth's 065 th lamb this season ?? )
Oh, such a sweet shot of the escapees! This looks like such a beautiful location...definitely a place to come back to on a sunny day for a photo outing!
out galavanting again? haha,..good for you, this is a lovely place I've been here for a cup of coffee, after a walk around Stonyhurst college with Mr. K. Great shot.
@peggysirk@aslessknownsu Thank you both & yes a lovely place...not far from you Susan that's right. Just the rain spoilt the walk & there were some unusual shots of assorted umbrellas in a line across a field but no camera on me...must replace my P&S asap!!
Nice that these chairs can stand the rain! Sheep know how they got out and will continue to do so until thwarted! The farmer must know how to thwart! " a thwarting we will go"!
