Our evening out at the Manchester Evening News Arena last night was a great concert. A sell out with every seat of the 21,000 capacity filled & a terrific atmosphere.
The first of two nights at Manchester Rod will have another very warm night...it was very hot in the stadium with what looked like much beer consumed...I can't understand when you pay up to £70 a ticket people don't stay in their seats...most of us stood up but some seemed to spend their time going backwards & forwards to the bar all night taking trays of drinks to their seats, crazy!
I am very sorry to neglect you all so dismally over the last couple of nights....we have been out today as well......I promise to do better this week!!
Three good things:
1. Willow, Cathy & Garths cat has returned from her annual holiday walk about after being missing for 7 days this time, she returned at BBQ time this evening strolling up the drive as if she had just been away a couple of hours.
2. Recorders to record the Grand Pris!
3. A new shirt & sunglasses from Jigsaw yesterday!
Great scenes from the concert! It would be very special and I hope you were able to see some of it with all these people getting up and down - they do that at rugby matches too - who can drink the most beer!
Oh nice collage! People don't seem to be able to do anything without getting drunk - too much excess! Cats are such a worry - glad she's right as rain. And thank goodness none of those cars will be missed!!M
Ooooh I'm soo jealous Pat, I tried to get tickets to see Rod in Manchester but didn't manage it, I have always wanted to go to one of his concerts....lucky you and thanks for sharing,
it's a gr8 montage Pat....as for the beer....it is indeed unfortunate that many Brits can't enjoy a night out without fuelling up on alcohol ..you really "need a reason to believe" why they drink so much .."I was only joking" if I said I understood why they do it...."every picture tells a story" and this picture does.
BTW : Maggie May and Reason to Believe are my faves
@phil_howcroft He sang Mmaggie May of course but not Reason to Believe too many off his new album to include!! I actually like him singing The American Song book ones the best but he doesn't seem to do them now.
The Manchester arena much renamed, is renowned by locals as one of the worst places on earth, i would not even watch a dog in that place which is why i am so glad you had a good time...
@tsingtao I do agree with you so much tsingto....it is a nightmare to negotiate those lethal steps, how they get away with having no handrails down the centre is truly amazing....where are health & safety? Has any one ever killed themselves by falling we wondered !
@tsingtao BTW we are going to the Lowry in October & that is lovely but would hate to have to flee there in a hurry...the seats curve round beautifully but the rows are so long it would take you an age to get out!!
Oh, how fun!!! I remember you talking a while back about getting tickets to this concert. I love Rod Stewart!!! I've never been to one of his concerts. I hope you had an awesome time, Pat!!! Great shots of the action on stage.
