My friend & fellow colleague from the agricultural show had a birthday today so we had a very enjoyable lunch in our local hostelry.
Of course as lots of you know we were in charge of the horticulture marquee for the last ten years but this year we have retired although on call to help if needed & helping to score etc on the Saturday morning so the new lady knows what to do.
Today is the day we used to judge the gardens so a bit of a coincidence it was the day we were meeting up for the birthday lunch.
Three good things:
1. A delicious meal out with a good chat ...I have done nothing today at all!!!
2. A fantastic semi final of the womens tennis which I managed to catch the final set....should have been the final!!
3. Hopefully the start of a glorious month of July.
All looks delicious! I haven't done much today either because I have a bug - so could watch the tennis without feeling at all guilty. Great match and no grunting!
Looks like a fab pub - that's handy. Relax & enjoy the show this year - tempting to go round tutting just for fun but you might get the job back! I came home to start Hoovering but an over-partied boy is fast asleep so - oh dear - I've had to leave it!
I think its great to see lunches as a photo! Always look delicious and we can enjoy the look before the start! I forget until I am halfway through and that looks awful!
The end of an era, I bet it will feel strange, but nice too. This looks like a nice place and that glass of nice cold white wine is making my mouth water.
Looks like a nice burgery lunch. My dad just won first prize for his marmalade in the local show, but is trying to decide whether to be offended because there were only two entries in that category, both were his, and he failed to come second too!
