The corn is as high as an elephants eye...............
Some of you will be familiar with this view from the back of our house & will have seen some of the various stages of of work in these fields.
The maize has done so well this year & we can almost hear it growing....loving the sun & warmth on the soil.
If you have good eyes you can faintly see the Lake District mountains along the skyline.
By the way I must thank you all so much for all the birthday wishes last Friday, every time I come on line someone else has kindly added some lovely words.....you are all so good!
Three good things:
1. Harry & I have managed to shift all the furniture out of the sitting room ready for the decorator coming tomorrow....this is when we miss sons next door!!!!
2. Remains of a cold chicken for tea.
3. I managed to last all night without coming down for a cup of tea...bad habits!
What a glorious view you have and it must be wonderful to watch your crops grow in the sunshine. We have cold chicken for tea too ;) Lovely rural shot.
@quietpurplehaze Oh Hazel, like reading or eating....have done them all!!! Am having a particularly restless time at the moment & the more you get up the more your body expects tea etc!!!I'm sure we aren't the only ones!!
What a glorious view & love your title which reminds me of the days I was part of the local operatic group and remember well our production of OAKLAHOMA my billowing lime green check skirt ,white gipsy blouse & along hair wig !!!! we did have some fun !! --digressing now --this is a lovely image Pat ( & yes I am another restless night time zombie !! )
You can't be too far away from The Lake District if you can see the hills! You must visit it often and choose your day! I actually have heard of tea addiction but I don't have that problem - one cup a day! Chicken is on my menu too!
@maggiemae Takes us 40 minutes to get to the Lakes & yes we can go any time but you know how it is we don't!!!! Not so much tea addiction as I just can't sleep so come down & have a cup & read my book for a bit then back to sleep hopefully!
@gerry Thanks Gerry...don't celebrate birthdays as much these days so that's ok!!! Thanks for the intention though!! Your regular faves are as good as a card!
A beautiful rural scene we are lucky having such lovely views with out leaving home . We have a maze crop to the side of our house ,and as you say its really shot up
