Harry & I got off early for the Lake District, we wanted to go before the wind blew all the beautiful leaves off. It only takes an hour to drive from our house to Windermere so as we always say, why don't we go more often!!!!
Had our lunch out , did as bit of Christmas shopping then parked up at Brockholes & walked around the side of Lake Windermere.
We finished off the day with a look round Lakeland Plastics who have an enormous & beautiful shop & headquarters in Windermere.
The weather was just perfect cold & crisp with no wind...not many people about in fact the very best time of the year!
Photo is SOOC today & the sky really is that colour.
Three good things:
1. A parcel has just arrived from M&S from our DIL who is in the air on her way home as I write....she is so generous with her thanks despite being told no presents.
2. A very special day out today.
3. I bought a sink tidy to keep the dishcloth etc so a much tidier sink tonight.
This is super in large ,Pat - so scenic with the branch helping to frame the scene . Glad you had a beautiful day out -- and the weather was a bonus today !!
How envious I am of you being able to get to the Lakes so easily, we had hoped to go this year but sadly where let down, it sounds like you had a perfect day, lovely pic btw.
A beautiful view and lovely vibrant blues. Lucky you having the Lakes so close to you. I would love to visit the Lake District too. Jo @jo13 and I will have to come and stay in your b&b and visit one day ;)
I was curious to see how the comments on these two pics would go. I think it was about half and half for each of the two shots! Goes to show how different we all are when it comes to what we see and like.
Interesting little survey, for sure!
Beautiful view. We had a couple of family holidays on the shores of Windermere when I was a kid - national trust cottages with no electricity - all gas lamps and stargazing and sailing. Lovely!
While both are pretty, I think I prefer this one.
I love lakeland plastics! so fabulous stuff in there :)
Like your Three Good Things today too!!
Interesting little survey, for sure!
