A photo that sums up the NZ I know & love.
In holiday mode always of course, no cooking, summer time of sun & warmth & being taken to lovely places in the company of family not seen for a year.
I got back yesterday afternoon so am only just getting myself together, shall start commenting again very soon.
A very dodgy start to my holiday with cancelled flights due to the high winds, two unscheduled stays in hotels, one in Chester the other in Dubai. Missing baggage left in Melbourne & a bout of gallstone trouble but otherwise a wonderful holiday!
A great group of fellow travellers to different places....I shared a room in Chester with a lady from Sheffield called Eileen whom I met in the check in queue who was off to Perth. There was Betty from Lancaster visiting friends in Tasmania who I discovered on an escalator in Dubai had her feet done by my Cathy & a young lady called Anna who missed her friends wedding in Wellington....she & I were the only survivors in Auckland both without our cases. I was very glad of her company & help in sorting it out.
Lovely to meet all the family & growing grandchildren , two delightful 21 year olds & a very chatty 3 year old & of course new baby Finn...more of them later in the week.
I met a
@andreajoy in Taupo, a wonderful warm & chatty meeting---so much to talk about, so little time but felt we were soul mates, a very rewarding couple of hours!
I also met up with
@julzmaioro &
@rustymonkey at the cave cafe. Again we all got on so well & I so enjoyed meeting them both. They even babysat Finn whilst we ate out pizzas....so kind!
They have all put photos of our meetings up on 365 so I won't do that here.
Two 365 meet ups to remember, we will repeat it next year hopefully & include
@maggiemae.
I have not looked at a computer since I set off on the 12th February so have feel I have missed all your news & pictures but on the other hand I enjoyed the break.
Lots of good things:
Wonderful time with family.
Getting to know grandchildren again at every stage of their lives.
Friendships formed in unusual settings.
I am a rather fetching shade of bronzed colour!
I am far away in the above photo so you can't see too much detail!
The photo was taken two days before I flew home on a private beach on the west coast just above Te Akau. We took the trailer & quad bike through acres of farmland to get to it but boy was it worth it!!!
Anthony picked fresh mussels off the rocks for supper.
Welcome back and settle down and get over your jet lag before commenting:0)
Beautiful shot. Love the lines, so beautiful.
To be honest I really consider myself a low fat diet person so am flummoxed to see how I can manage going much lower. No butter or bread, cakes, fatty meals such as fish & chips no more than once a fortnight....I love yoghurts & never buy the low fat ones so perhaps that needs to be amended.
I am not overweight ...fair , fat or forty as has been quoted LOL!
I am going to be extra vigilant in my eating plan so do hope I can keep hold of the gall bladder. What disadvantages do you feel on having to have it out Claire.....for you that is?
