I have been pretty good lately in my quest to eat a much healthier diet & in the process lose a couple of pounds.
The mum of some of our friends belongs to a chocolate club & gets a selection of chocolates every month.
When our friends came at Christmas they left the remains of a box. I have been very good but the last few are too tempting! They are so delicious & so much better than the run of the mill boxes you find in the supermarket.
Three good things:
1. I was going to buy the last custard donut in the bakery but it turned out it was a jam one so I resisted!
2. We live about four miles as the crow flies from the controversial fracking sight at Rosacre ......the descision about fracking has been deferred again so a relief for the locals. I am afraid I am sitting on the fence regarding fracking.......it's a worry where our future energy will come from but not sure its through fracking. A very emotive question!!
3. A good nights sleep.
Very tempting Pat and all in dark chocolate --my favourite ! A lovely shot and presentation -- the brown on brown so dark , very sexy and alluring -- grrrr !!
@happypat It's very hard but I so much want to lose the weight and by posting it on 365 in my diet album 365.1 is really helping. I'd love to be 8st:6lbs by April ..... well I can hope :-)
@bizziebeeme 8st 6 sounds very ambitious! I am 9.6 now & quite small in height....I want to get to about 9.4 as I think when you get older a bit more flesh is healthier.
oooh Pat, such temptation! I'm trying to lose weight but it's not happening, I've decided I like food too much! Just means I've got to go and do extra session a the gym now!!
@cejaanderson yes it's a very dodgy subject here. I went to NZ just after they had that massive earthquake & was on tenterhooks the whole time .....got back home & there was a small earthquake centered a mile away said to be caused by fracking. There is very strong feeling here about the whole thing. I can see both sides but glad I don't live too near it ...I would be saying a resounding no.......the lorries carting the sand used will be the biggest problem to locals.
Mmmmmm
I'm feeling quite like you re chocolate and healthy!
But now my mouth is watering and hope the refreshments trolley comes along soon. ...on train to see Susannah for the weekend!
Thank you all for your envious comments! The trouble with chocolate is that it's so addictive! I have not had the slightest craving for any until I had one of these last night now all I can think of is eating another! Luckily there are only about ten left! I did actually go on the website after reading @bizziebeeme comments but how could you eat so many every month? Would be good to share a membership perhaps! I don't think they would put as much weight on as we think........no rubbish in these chocolates!
I cannot believe that these nearly made it into Feb. I see you are opening the energy debate again! Even if we do frack it won't satisfy our current gas needs. We do need to find other sources. I keep telling you to put a wind turbine in your field! :-0
John went on the hunt for a chocolate last night - just rarely does this happen! He found two - one a peppermint and the other raspberry - neither of which do I feel is worth eating! However, I had a stash on the other side of the pantry in a jar and found a fudge one!
The answer to energy needs is to reduce them! Insulate all houses! Buy 5 star appliances, turn lights off etc etc.
@maggiemae you are right about energy...we waste far too much in this country! All office lights left on when no one is in them.....disgraceful!
Everyone needs a secret supply of choccy!
@fueast our farming friends put in plans to have a wind turbine in their fields...well all hell broke lose, they had over three hundred signatures on a petition against. A small hamlet & one guy went round to every house collecting them. They have just put forty solar panels in one of their fields & the neighbour who is 100 yards away is complaining! NIMBYS the lot of them!
@happypat I dont really get why. I guess there is a research project in answering that question! I should bring it up at work.Actually a few of my friends followed suit when I got my solar panels. Annoyingly that was just after the price dropped so they'll pay for them long before I will.
A chocolate club!!!!! Thank goodness there isn't one near here I couldn't resist. My chocoholic habit is so bad that the only way I can control is not to have any in the house!!
These look amazing and your focus is terrific. Well done for resisting! I did wonder what you thought about fracking as Peter said it wasn't far from you.
Everyone needs chocolate occasionally. I am generally very good and don't have too much, but if God had meant us not to eat chocolate he wouldn't have made it taste so good would he. haha.
@busylady well we were quite for it until recently especially as it will be boom time for B&B but not so sure now. Of course it goes without saying if we lived down that road we would hate it!
@claireuk Yes I feel much the same Claire but we need to find another source of energy....I have still to be convinced we can get enough from renewables!
@thistle It's online Joyce thank goodness........we have loads of chocolate in the house...unopened tins of sweets from Christmas but as long as they aren't opened I am fine!
I've eaten too much food this weekend! After last night's meal I said I wasn't eating for a week and then we went out for Sunday lunch! Excellent veggies I must say - just gravy with them would have done me. And now I've just had one of the chocs my friends left.... I do feel sorry for people who have chosen rural peace and quiet and end up with fracking though I've never seen it in action.
That's one delicious vignette of chocolate! You can make up for the jam filled doughnut by enjoying these little beauties. :)
I'm with you on the fracking issue. We need energy, we don't want to make a mess of things to get it, where does that leave us? The only truly clean energy is nuclear...but no one wants to live near a nuclear power plant. Concessions need to be made...but what, and by whom.
And why is it called 'fracking' -what an ugly word which always reminds me of an even uglier one!
