Gap

Another shot of Kendal through a gap in the narrow stone walls.

@pinkpaintpot who knows the area far better than me has pointed out that what I called alleyways yesterday are really called yards in Kendal......I love that name so am glad to be reminded !

I was abysmal at commenting last night ....too busy & probably will be over the next few evenings while I am full up with B&B . I will do my best though but no need to comment on mine!

Three good things:
1. Our Wednesday visit to the cinema this afternoon & we went to see The Water Deviner with Russel Crowe. We loved it but it was very moving showing the complete futility of war.
2. The film has made me curious about the Ottoman Empire so I will be googling.
3. Dot & I have decided we want to visit Istanbul....after seeing it on film & also seeing @ruthmouch recent holiday photos, it looks a fascinating place.
Loving your Kendal pictures Pat. I'd forgotten how hilly the town was!

Yes and I saw a great travel show on it recently which would be work catching on demand if you can - Travel Man with Richard Ayoade - was much more westernised than I expected. Love your Kendal pic - I'm thinking 'edges' theme.

@judithg oh yes of course..... I will enter! Thanks Judith. I also saw that Travel Man ....he is quite querky....thought of @sparkle when he was in Iceland the other night.

Could I fit down that yard - do you think?!

Brilliant scene for 'edges'! Look at them all! Iinteresting about the yard word - we have a different meaning for that! We've been to Istanbul - we were kidnapped by a young seller who wouldn't leave our side and eventually took us to his Uncle's carpet shop where I didn't buy a carpet but our friends did - the smallest was $2000!

@maggiemae Oh my, perhaps I am well away from the place then....I would be persuaded against my will! The Blue mosque looked amazing! The film must have been interesting to Australia & NZ as it was about their contribution to WW1 ....stuff I didn't know about.

@quietpurplehaze We'll definitely Hazel but it was high up looking down....an illusion of the camera, only a gap through the walls!

Brings back memories of my visit there nearly 30 years ago. Busy saving to revisit the UK in a couple of years.
