Alex graduated from Lincoln University, Christchurch today with a Bachelor of Agriculture.
During the ceremony there was an earthquake measuring 6.3 on the richter scale.......out with a bang Alex!
Three good things:
1. A quiet afternoon finishing my book, Shop Girl by Mary Portas....it was excellent & I really enjoyed it. Must say though there must be more to come!
2. No beds to change as all the B&B's are back tonight.
3. Another lamb born this morning.
Great achievement. I was there last year for my son's graduation. Great atmosphere, wonderful to be with all those young adults who have worked hard an achieved their goals. Good luck for her future.
Oooh a proud day! 6.3! I'm pretty confident that won't happen in Birmingham... I am certain there's another book in Mary Portas - she's 22 when this one finishes and she's on the board at Harvey Nicks by 30 - maybe not as much fun though. I cried so much in this one (mostly the vet part) that I had to wait 15 mins to go out!
@judithg a tremendous life she has led....couldn't have fit it all I one book that's for sure....the mother was a gem wasn't she. I was very surprised at the type of childhood she had , not like I would have imagined at all.
Super to see this so fast and on the spot! The earthquake was situated a fair way away from Christchurch but it was felt there. A deep one. All the good farmers came from Lincoln!
@lucypics No Lucy, they belong to the people in the barn opposite. As Harry is out of action for a bit he asked them if they wanted to give their sheep a change of pasture. They were so easy to move, just followed the bucket across the lane....you should have seen the eating! A bit short of grass where they were & we wanted to keep the grass down so everyone happy. We didn't expect to see lambs the next day though!
Great shot and missed hearing about the earthquake due to no television for a few days. The southern hemisphere is certainly copping some adverse climate conditions at the moment.
Good luck, Alex!
