Cow by happypat

Cow

I love this painting of a cow that is hung on the wall of The Cartford Inn.
It cost £400 but would look fantastic in one of these minimalistic type house you see on Escape to the Country etc.
Wouldn't suit our house here but when we downsize I fancy a kitchen with bifold doors into a sunny south facing garden. No clutter anywhere just plenty of space & light in fact the exact opposite of my house!
A very enjoyable evening last night with wonderful food & company....the place was buzzing.

Three good things:
1. Very stylish food worthy of the top Masterchef restaurants....I enjoyed the taste of every little thing....much more about the food than being fed!
2. Lydia & Beth had the good sense to break their long journey from Wellington to Morrinsville when it started to snow. Just hope the Desert Road is open in the morning!
3. Cathy has just texted me that she has got me a large container of water...a very scare thing up here at the moment!
4. Going to Cathy's for our tea.
I just love this Pat. Glad your meal was so successful. So frustrating about your water I hope they restore it to normal soon. You really didn't need the electricity to come out in sympathy a swell. do you know what caused it?

@thistle hi Joyce, no we never heard, it seemed to have been a wide area affected but all OK now. Glad about the water because B&B coming from the south will not expect having to brush their teeth out of s jug!

Its a fantastic building, I wouldn't mind having it on one of my walls, but then I would need a lot of money to build a house around it ( ours is the type old house originally build in 1895 small roosm low ceilings)

A neat painting to enjoy when here at the Cartford as well as the good food. I notice you say 'when' talking about downsizing. So its in the plan! We just loved our downsize choice - a bit like a luxury apartment but with a garden! So the youngsters are back in the North Island. Just as well - roads are closed all around us here!

@maggiemae They escaped in time then......thank goodness they got further north before it got bad! Well we talk about down sizing but no sign of it yet...will be when we need to get a bit of cash....too much money in this house!! I would move sooner rather than later but it will. E getting HRry to shift...struggled to get him here & will struggle to move him! We do like it here though!

I love it - do you know who the artist is Pat? Just thinking about my minimalist kitchen (well it will be when we are empty nesters!) Shall I send you some water?!

@judithg No I'm on the G&T thank you Judith.......ha ha only joking! Cathy has bought us some from Longridge who aren't in the danger zone. Seems to be plenty in the shops now too. Still boiling water though. I will check the artist...it's a woman I think.
