On my way to the bakery this morning I noticed Olivia had lovely bunches of sweet peas & other wild flowers for sale. Each one was wrapped in brown paper & standing in an earthenware pot.....they looked so tempting I bought two & was given a third. My type of flower completely!
I did notice that the wild flower bunch had the flower of mint there too....it gave off a really lovely minty scent....something to remember when you are picking flowers from the garden & the mint has bolted!
Three good things:
1. I have been gardening most of the afternoon.
2. Custard tart for tea.
3. We got the woodburner going very easily in the next door house...the leaving tenants could never get it going so really relieved to find it's working properly.
You have reminded me of how much I like sweet peas but have absolutely no place for them to climb. I'll just have to buy some. Custard tart is one of my favourites but having it for tea is never an option. Has to be with a coffee or cup of tea in the morning. Do you think the next door people were using wet wood?
@maggiemae well I don't think they tried too hard Maggiemae......too convenient to switch the electric one on. They were out a lot so not worth lighting perhaps.
A lovely collection and beautiful shot of them all, nice peek of the jug holding them too, looks so pretty. My uncle used to grow prize sweet peas and one summer we looks after the house while he was away for a week and my mum unbeknown, picked them all for the table! I just love their scent,
Mum made the best custard tart you have just stired up a memory.
