Roofline by happypat

Roofline

I have been watching the renovation of this very large red bricked house in the centre of Great Eccleston for a long time. It's taken at least two years to get to this stage.
Originally owned by an elderly lady doctor, her two nieces are living in half each & have spent a lot of money doing each half up to their liking.
I am impressed with the way they have been true to the original roof line for the extensions. The glass structure & bit in front are the new bits all the rest was there before.
The house is on a corner & the back bit is on West End & the right hand side Copp Lane.
Funnily enough one of the ladies is a good friend of the wife if my long term B&B who comes from Malden, small world!

Three good things:
1. I have had my wild hair trimmed into a proper shape.
2. Someone has welded my old waste bin as good as new. We sent the other back & got a refund.
3. Masterchef the Professionals back on our screens this week.
I like how th green pattern matches those of the other rooflines. At least it's not an eye-sore, looks nicely done.

Its an odd piece of architecture and looks semi Victorian. All those chimneys! And your hair wasn't wild when I last saw it - might have been wild after last nights USA election!

@maggiemae he he well I did get up,in the night at three to see what was going on! I was amazed but thinking about it not as surprised as I should have been as there seems to be a general shift from the established parties here & USA & I suspect next will be Europe.

@brennieb this is a big house Brenda, very run down with trees right up to the windows. The doctor had to have the light on all day. She is in a nursing home now.

What a wonderful house, I like all the apexes and how they're mirrored.

So many gable ends and so many chimney pots -- must be an interesting interior and I assume many rooms . I wonder if they have kept the two halves identical in design !!
