I am disappointed with this photo but not surprised it's blurry. Taken very quickly & guiltily with my iPhone in the library this afternoon. I can't seem to get rid of the very loud click that my phone makes when you take a picture, it's very noticeable so I was on tenterhooks that they saw me.
If I had probably had the courage they would have been delighted to let me take a photo, I know @quietpurplehaze would have been braver!
Nothing else today so here it is!
Three good things:
1. Rediscovering the library again. The latest kindle books are so expensive now to download it's an option to borrow from the library.
There is an ebook option for my iPad or the kindle fire too if you want. My kindle will always be my favourite but it's another choice sometimes.
2. I have been cold today but when I actually ventured out I felt better for it. Get the blood circulating!
3. Hats!
@judithg you have to be a Prime member Judith. I used to be one when it was just £49 but they put the subscription up to £79 I think & amalgamated Netflix I think. I didn't want to pay for that so I cancelled. I use to botprrow them all the time.
@gr_annie Yes Jack has just messaged me that solution but have tried it & it doesn't work on my phone Ann! Still very noisy enough for people to turn round!
Think we feel guilty taking pics in public places...and I bet really not many people notice that loudish click...but we think they do...so its always a quick sneaked one....i like the blurriness' of the people
The blur just adds to the clandestine feel of the stolen shot. :)
I've been to the library recently for the first time in years. I was just in the mood for that 'old fashioned' library feel...and the feel of holding an actual book and turning pages rather than swiping a screen.
I am not very good with phone photos , but happier than with the ipad -- give me a little camera in my hand any day -- The blurry effect gives the scene intrigue especially of the group in the far end !( if you hadn't said anything I would have thought it was my eye sight ! lol )
This could be my mum and her friends! She was a librarian and now they have a 'Knit and natter' group. The Filipino seamen I work with love getting presents of woolly hats from them :)
I love seeing people use the library for groups. It is one of my favorite places to go and just grab books. Nice you could get a quick snap of the knitters.
@bkbinthecity Yes I know Brian but it's not working for some reason. Our grandson said that too, he's coming back from uni on Sunday so he will check it out. Thank you.
I'd just take my camera with me and take a photo with that. I am sure they would have loved it if you asked them permission to take their photo. What is the worst thing that could happen. Either they say no, or the people in the library say you can't take photos in there. If the library complain you could always play dumb. I do that all the time. "Oh dear I didn't know that you couldn't take photos in here, sorry" ha ha." but of course by then you have got the photo anyway.
@onewing I was once in Buckingham Palace Barb & of course photos are banned in there. Had my camera on my waist so took a few blind ones as you would be tempted to do. Someone saw me & made me delete everyone of them. In front of a load of people I was mortified & have never forgotten it!
I took my camera into the library once and got approached very quickly by a librarian who told me NO PHOTOS please! Help! You did. I checked on iPhone 5 and you can't silence the shutter! The new e- books are expensive yes but you can get really cheap ones on special. I have had "Storm sister' on a waiting list for 4 weeks at the library.
@maggiemae I'm thinking you're right about the iPhone maggie, no one can stop the sound which is a nuisance but can't be helped. Yes I am checking out books on library e book site! I shall just have to read the expensive newer books from the library & go fir cheaper ones on kindle. Apparently the amount of money I spent on kindle books last year was much more than I thought! Ah well I enjoy it so not bothered!
Hopefully your Grandson will sort out the noise mode on your phone camera, you should be able to deactivate it. I do love a stealthy phone photo, this has an air of clandestine about it and the blur enhances that!
