We are staying overnight in Hawkshead in the Lake District tonight visiting our daughter & SIL. They are staying over in a holiday cottage their family own so a nice little break for us too!
Of course it's pouring with rain but hopefully clear up later.
We stopped in Stavely fir our lunch & looked in the massive bike shop called Wheelbase.
Some of these bikes are worth over £6000 each!
Stavely was affected badly with flooding last year & The was a fire engine using its pumping equipment today, the river looked as though it was running high again!
Three good things:
1. Wilfs ( the name of the cafe) Rarebit & salad for my lunch which was so good!
2. Our resident B&B lady Beryl said she didn't mind staying in our house on her own overnight.
3. Drinking a glass of rose prosecco!
A great pov, Pat. A neighbour has a second-hand bike for sale outside their house. I thought it was expensive: £30! Shame about the rain which is what keeps me away from the Lake District for my hols. Enjoy your break!

I wouldn't mind staying in your lovely house by myself - except I would miss your company! Hope the stay here is a happy one! A different weather from what I'm experiencing - 30deg - too hot - felt weak and breathless. Prefer Lake District weather! Bikes are good - my bike was a huge price being electric!
It always rained when we went to the Lake District too. Never saw it sunny.
