Harry was watching the Grand Prix so I exherted myself & started weeding the jungle that is our front garden.
Our garden is ringed by very large trees, the biggest being two oak trees either side of the front gate & the rest mostly sycamore.
Masses of bulbs grow under the trees but as the soil is full of tree roots not much else!
We always have to wait until the leaves of the bulbs dies down before we can tidy up.
Today I made a start & a couple of hours can really make a massive difference!
Harry thanks you all for your kind good wishes on his birthday yesterday, he really had a very enjoyable day!
Three good things:
1. A much tidier garden.
2. @quietpurplehaze Hazel's book arrived a couple of days ago. Till we Meet Again looks very interesting & plenty to go at as it's quite fat!
3. Birthday cake for pudding!
So you don't like motor races, Pat. Neither do I, but I couldn't do something useful in the garden because of the rain. I tried to amuse myself with the ironing board and hubby's shirts...
@gijsje Well I used to watch it but have list interest these days. I only did the weeding because it looked so messy & we're having a bit of a party in July! I was pleased I had done it! I think I would rather weed than iron shirts!
Nice to see the results after carrying out one of these mundane jobs -- I haven't been out to the garden since coming home and haven't had a good day today but managed to sleep more than I did last night !
I like your photo! So often I find myself taking photos of the best bits of the garden but know that there are SO many others!!
Good to get a day when you can make a difference!
@sarah19 I took quite a few lying on my back etc, some I am going to enter for the show in a certain category. The sun was nice peeping through the leaves, will post a couple over next few days.
Good to get a day when you can make a difference!
