Hidden weeds

I took this photo of my weed ridden garden but actually quite liked the light in this shot. Of course I prefer this photo in colour but one of the photo classes in our agriculture show in mid July is photo black & white 'Wild flowers'!
There us another called photo black & white 'Our green & pleasant land'!
I have no idea why they have those classes when in my opinion they are better in colour surely?
Every year the same classes crop up...I think I might have a word!
Anyway I'm testing this shot out with you very discerning folk to see what you think!

Three good things!
1. The family are half way here! Taking the longest flight from Auckland to Doha all of seventeen & a half hours...I wonder how those little boys are coping? Another seven hours thirty minutes from Doha to Manchester after that!
2. Lunch out & a good chat.
3. Smiles.
Does seem strange subjects.. wild flowers should be colourful.. maybe this one could be cropped in a bit .. but can you clone out the bright spot..
You will be so excited to see the family..

@julzmaioro Yes could try Julz, might be better lighter but then the I lose the light on the top right bit. Thanks, I am not a fan of b/ w unless it's in a strong city situation or portrait.

@snowy I have cropped it & cloned out the white spot in my extras photo Diana, I think it's better but I still prefer colour!

I think it's a difficult subject. Maybe some weeds with bigger flowers? Foxgloves maybe.

I am a big fan of b&w, but flowers always look better in colours in my opinion. The b&w does bring out the shapes and textures though which is interesting.

I think you've done well Pat but I too think that all flowers should always be in colour.
