This stall looked very pretty with all the stars lit up. The later it got in the afternoon the more festive the market looked.
The cinema this afternoon to see Wonder.
Sweet film about a facially disfigured boy & his trials as he learned to fit in at proper school. Julia Roberts was the mum, the boy was excellent, he apparently spent two hours in make up everyday!
Could have done with a few subtitles for the accent sometimes!
Thank you all who have been faving & commenting on my recent Chatsworth House photos, very much obliged!
Three good things:
1. The dog competitors have gone, knocked out on the second day unfortunately, some bad decisions by the judges it sounds like. Loved having them as they certainly make themselves at home, coming down in pj's etc but nice to have the house back to normal!
2. Lightweight carpet sweepers!
3. The dark days before Christmas, I love them!
Those lanterns look lovely. Yes - hoping to see Wonder soon. It’s a great book to read to kids to help them see things from another’s perspective. Pity the dog competitors got knocked out of the competition so early.
So wonderful and cheerful as the day draws to an end . I also love the dark before Christmas -- when you can appreciate the home comforts in the cosiness of your home ! --and once the Christmas lights and decorations go up its so exciting ! ( still a child at heart !!)
@dide@julzmaioro Wonder was a great film to highlight the social difficulties of anyone who is different. I thought my seven year old grandson would enjoy but it did go on a bit, seemed to be quite a long film. Yes the dog owners were cross! Some confused instructions & one of then got bad marks because his dog didn't pick up the bird quickly enough. Long cold wet days, it didn't seem to be very well run this year they said.
@beryl love to get the fire on & draw the curtains Beryl. Light summer nights are lovely but when it's dark you can sit inside reading or whatever with no guilt about thinking you should be gardening or similar good work! Hope I feel more motivated for decorating next week!
The lanterns are beautifully made - I daresay you can buy one or several if you want? Those dog people must get good results sometime to keep on year after year!!
@maggiemae Yes Kirsty runs her business training gun digs, she wins lots & has a very good name. She is the one with all the dogs under control you have seen on my page. We had her husband this time & of course John from Ireland competed too.
What a lovely festival! Those lanterns are wonderful. I’m sorry about the judging for the dogs, when it’s obvious that they are not being fair it makes it so hard on the contestants who worked so hard to get there.
Have loved seeing your Chatsworth photos. Very Christmassy - but it looked really busy. Sorry I haven't had a chance to comment on all of them - busy with school end of year!
Love this! The colour bursts through the dark.....like you I love the dark days before Christmas as there's so much cheerfulness after the gloom of November 😊
