The front garden gate

Such a lovely hot day today.....it's going to be a great week for sun!

Lovely to get the cushions out for the chairs, put the brolly up & enjoy the sunshine.

Three good things:
1. Knowing that when you wake up the next day it's still going to be glorious!
2. De heading all the roses I missed flowering while I was away.
3. Home grown lettuce.
had our first home grown lettuce today Pat.. !

@brennieb Ooh lovely, it is nice picking it out of the garden but I have got liking all these different packeted lettuce these days, oeppery ones, lambs leaves, pea shoots etc so I haven't being appreciating Harry's lettuce growing as I should, nice today to go & pick straight out of garden.

@julzmaioro Yes it does look a It grim in NZ but it is winter. I was surprised what good days we did have, not so much in Morrinsville but Taupo was really blue sky & warm days. Hope you brighten up soon!

@beryl Lots of trees all round the edge Beryl but nothing much grows under those trees. Plenty of white bells & daffodils in Spring then it's pretty much just bare soil. No lovely flowers like you have unfortunately but the trees & oval shape of the garden save it from being uninteresting.

Ah, my dad used to grow lettuce - and celery - as well as the sweet peas I am always talking about.

All good - the substance of a fine day! You make me nostalgic for the summer! A rug on that lawn, a jug of real lemonade, and a good book!

The weather looks lovely, so nice that you were able to come home from New Zealand to summer weather.

@maggiemae Yes it's exactly like that! Think that was what I was thinking about a bit while in NZ this time! Son Brian & Lesley parents of Will & Alex are staying for second night in Oamarua at Highfield Mews.

Lovely lush green Pat. Home grown lettuce tastes so much better. I agree about the mixed bags though!
