John Ditchfield lighting.... Glasform have their glass blowing works a couple of miles from us.
He makes some amazing things...famous for his lovely mushrooms among other stuff.
These blown light bulbs are gorgeous aren’t they...would look stunning over a kitchen island.
Three good things:
1. Lots done today, curtains down, stuff sorted either for rental or container on Friday.
2. Quizzing the neighbour opposite about sliding doors versus bi-folds.
3. The WiFi is not working in this cottage for some reason but thankfully I can still use it as Jack linked my iPhone to my iPad....so thankful...I would have really been stuck without it. Haven’t had time to ask the cottage owner yet.
Have you been out shopping? I hope you find something lovely. I kind of regret not having any lights overhanging the island. Ours are all recessed into the ceiling, so it's either all on or all off. I really like our tri-fold door. Happy hunting
@busylady No we haven’t been shopping only in our heads & magazines! Not sure if the window shops are open, I doubt it! I’m sure we will make some mistakes but having lights in ceiling like yours but a couple over the peninsular...not an island I don’t think as it doesn’t fit in without going into living space too much...will see when the kitchen planner sends her ideas!
Wow they look superb! Kitchen lighting can be tricky to plan as you don't really know how it will be until all in place.
Sometime that will be a project here!!
Those are beautiful and unique! Love them. My only concern for kitchen lighting would be they might not be bright enough. I like a well lit kitchen. We have recessed lighting with the big indoor floodlight bulbs...but with a dimmer switch. I can't wait to see your renovations. How long does your contractor estimate it will take from start to finish:?
Those are stunning! Would love to purchase something there. I used to have a beautiful Christmas bauble, giant like that, that I had carried all the way back carefully from a German Christmas Market. Had it for years and then it broke a couple of years back. They remind me of that. Loving the colours in these
@peggysirk Well we think to get completely finished 3to 4 months Peggy. We have rented this place fir 4 months but one month gone by already & nothing done yet! As soon as it’s liveable we will move back in & camp out! We are having those ceiling lights in the ceiling on dimmer & in sequences but I know what you mean about fancy lights over the counter....
@maggiemae Ha ha maggie....I agree they are a bit precious aren’t they...not for us I don’t think. There are some gorgeous lights for over the counter tops around so will take my time looking!
@judithg Yes he has a website, there is a show room too & you can watch him making these & other stuff. I had a couple if lamp shades on our wall lights at the farm....very plain with almost a pearlised effect...I left them of course! Got them off the sale bench!
Sometime that will be a project here!!
