There has been lots of maize planted over the last week or two & much of it has been covered with plastic like you can see here.
It’s been a cold Spring on the whole so farmers are hoping to get a boost in growth by keeping the maize warm as it germinates.
These fields you can se here used to be part of our farm before we sold it.....our house was behind that little wood in the centre of the photo.
A bit of a dreary photo for a dreary day!
Three good things:
1. Three visits to the surgery today trying to chase up Harry’s X-ray appointment. I ended up ringing the hospital & was horrified to hear that his card requesting an X-ray had been sent back to the surgery as it had only been signed by a nurse practitioner not a doctor! Turned out that was all rubbish & to cut a long story short we are going in the morning!
2. I went to ask if our floor tiles we picked need sealing....thankfully they don’t!
3. I have rung a tiling person, we need to get in the queue!
Plastic is used so much these days to aid germination - I am always fooled to think the field is a lake !! How frustrating for you over Harry's X-ray's results - so much of this going on these days - you have to chase everything before things get moving - Good luck tomorrow !
I love the wonderful lines of color in this landscape scene.
Thank goodness Harry will be getting his x-rays!! Hopefully it will be the first step in getting him on a healing track. I can tell from your recent comments that he has been suffering with that hip pain. Bless him.
@bkp A bit of both Barbara. We didn’t want to move really but it made sense & once we had actually done it & get through the horror of selling it has become exciting! Not enjoying this bit so much in rented with all our stuff in storage but we’ll get there!
@beryl You will know how frustrating it gets Beryl.....the days are gone when they ring you & invite you for check ups etc....you can so soon slip through the net if you don’t keep on at them. The next task will be to actually find out the result of said X-ray no doubt! 😳
@happypat you really do! There have been admissions at the hospital and GP that dad has been neglected by the medical profession. It took them 5 months to report a brain scan - he wouldn’t call the GP to ask about it because “they’re busy”.
A lovely view, I love the layers. Any medical appointment gets frustrating these days doesn't it. It never used to be a problem in Australia but we are catching up now with the rest of the world will delayed appointments.
@phil_howcroft That’s just my name for it Phil.....I’m sure there is an official name! We never did this in our day so I don’t know...just plastic covered I expect!!
Nice and sunny today phew! It's so hard getting workmen at the moment isn't it - everyone a holiday money is going on their properties! Hope the hospital get sorted!
Heavy rain ans wind here today. Too cold...
