Happy second wedding anniversary to our granddaughter Alex & her husband Simon.
Seems so long ago we were in New Zealand for their wedding.
The little family has grown to three with the birth of Nina.
A change of job for Simon in June means a move to central South Island to the west of Ashburton. A new area to explore when we get to visit next.
Three good things:
1. The bravery of journalists bring us news from cities in Ukraine.
2. Oven chips for convenience! I have a perfectly good electric chip pan that I washed & cleaned out when we moved but they can be messy things so I’ve been buying oven chips. Not the same by any means but easier.
3. So lovely using my wheat bag last night…..
What a precious photo! Nina’s eyes, oh my goodness. I’m going to have to Google “electric chips” and “wheat bag” because I have no idea of what they are. 😊 Okay, found wheat bag, we fill ours with rice, ha. And maybe the electric chip pan is an indoor grill. Lol.
@louannwarren Ha ha Lou Ann, just an electric fryer you can fry chips in….wheat bag is a bag filled with dried wheat & lavender that you can pop in the microwave for a couple of minutes & use it as you would a hot water bottle. Our electric blanket has become redundant since we bought our bigger bed so a friend is making these wheat bags & proceeds going to Ukraine charities.
Such a happy shot .a happy anniversary to Simon and Alex .. Threw out my electric chipper....... too much hard work to keep it clean ,especially when we did not use it often !Nothing like a wheat bag ... love mine .. my comfort and bed companion .!, ha ,,
@beryl@quietpurplehaze Yes I doubt I will ever use my chip pan again although I do miss proper chips. We don’t have them that often but it’s great not to have a chip smell in the house too. I’m loath to contaminate my nice clean walls with chip fumes! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@julzmaioro Looking forward to visiting that area Julz. Only trouble is the more they spread the selves out the less time we have with each! Five in South Island & five in north island! @dide
@happypat ha ha! Thank you! I was envisioning some kind of pan that burned wood chips, silly me. Your friend’s project is so thoughtful and dear. And useful too.
Love my wheat bag in winter for any aches and pains..
I am with you both on both counts! Threw out the chip pan, hard to clean and a hazard; love my wheatbag !
Lovely portrait!
Nina…what pleasure and treasure for you all.
